Last year, two people who made important contributions to the project of Constant - and who, for some of us were close and important people - have passed away.
At the start of this new year, we have a special thought for Laura Couderc, who was a crucial accomplice in the development of Verbindingen 3 and 4. Laura was a talented artist with an infinite curiosity for all audiovisual forms. An exhibition of her work, Images Entetantes, takes place from the 20th of January to the 28thof February, at the Centre Culturel de Watermael Boitsfort, La Venerie. On the 8th of February at 20h30, Frédéric Jadoul will give a lecture about Laura’s notebooks and sketches.
Another thought goes to Miren Eraso, whom we met in the Arteleku Art Centre, San Sebastian, where she was the director of the documentation center and artistic director. Meeting her inspired us to start developing Active Archives, still in continued today. Miren was the chief-editor of Zehar, a magazine to which many of us contributed. By questioning classification systems or by engaging in collaborative practices, Miren always amazed us by the sharpness of her choices and her courage to realize them.
