Accessibility

Our spaces and events are not yet accessible to everyone, we do apologize for this.
We are currently taking concrete steps to change the situation.
If you require information or assistance, previous to an event, please contact in advance a member of the team.

Office accessibility in detail:

Mobility:

  • If you are coming by car, there are two accessible parking spots on the corner between Rue du Fort / Fortstraat and Rue de l’Eglise Saint-Gilles / Sint-Gilliskerkstraat. Considering that the office is located in a neighborhood with a high population density it may happen that the places are already occupied. The closest underground parking in the vicinity is on 85 Rue Jourdan / Jourdanstraat, 12 min distance from Constant.
  • If you are coming by public transport, there is a lift in the metro-station Porte de Hal / Hallepoort and in the tram station Parvis de Saint-Gilles / Sint-Gillisvoorplein.
  • Our office’s street, Rue du Fort / Fortstraat is a one direction street, crossed by cars, bikes, steps and passers-by. It presents a considerable slope. It is usually quite busy and noisy.
  • Our office is located in an old building with no facilities for wheelchairs, although our window installations are visible from the outside. Description of the entrance :
Threshold: one step of 20,5 cm
     Door width: 90 cm
Turning space in the doorway: 93 cm
  • Circulation in the space: the interior is not wheelchair friendly. There is office furniture around and a step 9 cm high separate the two main rooms.
  • There is no elevator in the building.
  • The toilet is not at ground level (-1) and is not wheelchair accessible.
  • We don’t have a changing table for babies, but we can provide a quite room in the back of the cellar, with a table for changing diapers and a sofa for breasts-feeding.
  • We have some office chairs, but mostly sturdy benches and chairs without armrests.

Sensory setting:

  • The space has various light conditions, but we do not use strobe or laser lights unless explicitly stated.
  • We do not have a noise analyser but the noise level does not usually exceed that of a room full of people. We do not play loud music or other loud noises, unless explicitly stated.

Air quality:

  • Our office look on the street in front and on the courtyard on the back and we ventilate it via open doors. We do not have a CO2 monitor.
  • The temperature inside is around 20 degrees, but, since we ventilate through open doors, it can easily drop and feel a bit cold at times.

Events:

  • All our events are free.
  • Wifi is always freely available.
  • We have hand gel, masks, earplugs available.
  • Language: during event we often switch to English, but since we are a multilingual team, we can provide ad hoc translations and explanations (French, Dutch, Arabic, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian).
  • During events we offer free drinks and (vegetarian) food.
  • Events are dog friendly, but please let us know in advance, if possible, if you are uncomfortable with them. Assistance dogs are welcome.

Studio accessibility in detail:

Mobility:

  • If you are coming by car, there are two accessible parking spots further on the Chaussée de Jette / Jetsesteenweg after the roundabout. The closest underground parking in the vicinity is on 513 Rue Léopold I / Leopold I-straat, 13 min distance from Constant’s studio.
  • If you are coming by public transport, there is a lift in the metro-station Simonis / Elisabeth.
  • Our studio’s street, Chaussée de Jette / Jetsesteenweg is a one direction street, crossed by cars, bikes, steps and passers-by. It can be busy and noisy at times, but the studio occupies the back of the building so it is quite quiet.
  • Our studio is located in an old building with few facilities for wheelchairs. The front blue door is very large, but the hallway is very narrow and the studio entrance may be not suitable for every kind of wheelchair (82 cm width). There is a small ramp in front of the entrance door to the studio to facilitate the access.
  • A wheelchair accessible toilet is available on the ground floor with a door width of 75 cm. Although accessible, the toilet do not comply yet to the PMR standard toilets.
  • In the toilet there is a table that can be use to changing diapers for babies.
  • Floor is made of old industrial stones and quite uneven.
  • Garden is not yet accessible due to a small threshold in the doorway.
  • The upper floor is only accessible through stairs. There is no elevator in the building.

  • The studio has big windows on both side and a large garden, and we ventilate it via open windows. We do not have a CO2 monitor or a mask mandate.
  • The temperature inside is around 20 degrees, but, since we ventilate through open doors, it can easily drop and feel quite cold at times.

Other:

  • All our events are free.
  • Wifi is always freely available.
  • We have hand gel, masks, earplugs available.
