Diverted Objects @ The time of the commons

Diverted Objects, the installation in the Constant window, will be part of the program of the festival The time of the commons that will take place in Brussels and other European cities from 5th until 8th October 2015.

The commons are new ways of making a society, alongside the public and financial institutions. They involve resource users in their creation and management process. These could be shared gardens, Wikipedia, the Community Land Trust, participatory mapping, associations that promote free internet and open source software, collaborative meeting places such as Zinneke ... By putting them next to each other, The time of the commons offers a new narrative, in which mutual support prevails on individual hoarding.

The time of the commons is a decentralized and self-organised festival. More than 200 events are scheduled internationally, including 20 in Belgium. The full program of the festival can be found at: http://tempsdescommuns.org.

Constants office will open its door during two afternoons to allow visitors to come and enjoy our window installation around the theme of "forked" objects.
During a one-day workshop the designers collective LibreObjet guided 10 participants in the creation of a series of prototyped lamps that relate to each other through similar characteristics and uses. All the prototypes have been created under the Free Art Licence, that means that anybody could download the instructions and reproduce and improve them in the respect of the original idea’s author, under the condition of applying the same license.

Come and have a look!
