Constant is looking for an intern (m/x/f) for the European project Iterations

Iterations is a collaborative European project between esc medien kunst lab (AT), Hangar (ES) and Constant (BE). Iterations is committed to the future of artistic collaboration in digitally networked contexts. Multidisciplinary artists and practitioners are brought together to create speculative works that feed the imagination of possible modes of artistic collaboration. Between 2017 and 2019 a series of activities took place in Barcelona, Giampilieri, Graz, and Brussels. The project will end in 2020 with a publication and a final presentation.

The intern will have the opportunity to:

  • work alongside the project responsible, during the production of the last activities on the program (publication, final presentation)
  • contribute to the content and financial final report, with a focus on the quantitative and qualitative evaluation.
  • help collecting the documentation and filling the Project Results portal of the European Agency

We look for students in cultural studies and/or cultural management.

The intern will have the opportunity to participate in the everyday life of the organization and gain an overview of its functioning. He/she will learn to handle different working tools (software related, organizational, knowledge sharing, etc.) and depending on his/her interests and availability contribute concretely to various projects.


  • support the organization of interdisciplinary work-sessions
  • support the production of artistic installations, such as the series Constant_V
  • support artistic research projects according to the specific needs of the yearly programme of the organisation
  • implement the communication strategy together with the communication officer
  • contribute to the online archive of Constant

Interns profile

  • Interest in media art
  • Open mind
  • Creativity
  • Organizational capacity
  • Knowledge of IT tools
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Fluency in oral and written communication
  • Bilingual (FR and/or NL, and can communicate in a second language, knowledge of English)

Previous experience and knowledge of free software (Ubuntu, LibreOffice, etc.) and Internet communication tools (WordPress, Spip, MediaWiki, etc.) is an asset.

Working conditions

Half-time or quarter-time internship - schedule and duration adaptable on demand. Unpaid, travel allowance available
